Superfood

Superfood is a collective name for a range of edible plants and fruits that are high in essential nutrients. Positive characteristics are attributed to superfoods. They would increase libido, prevent cardiovascular diseases, help with losing weight and prevent or reduce depression and skin aging.


Description

Most superfoods contain nutrients, such as vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, which have health-improving properties. These substances are also found in common foods. Food falls under the heading of superfood when it has more than twelve positive qualities for health.

Examples of products sold as superfood are: goji berries, cocoa beans, chia seed, hemp seed, bee pollen, wheat grass, coconut oil, seaweed and algae extracts.

In addition, several ‘ordinary’ products are also classified as superfoods. Examples are various types of fruits and vegetables (berries, red grapes, garlic, onions, cabbage, tomatoes, broccoli), oily fish (omega-3 fatty acids), olive oil, some nuts, dark chocolate and green tea.


Effect

It is said that by eating superfoods, vitality and energy will greatly increase. They improve general health, strenghten the immune system, increase serotonin production, improve sex life, purify, provide the body with all necessary nutrients and are often also very tasty.
